Cisco Systems to acquire BNI VideoOct 21, 2011 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Cisco Systems, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of Internet protocol (IP) based networking and other products, intends to acquire BNI Video, a video control software company from Comcast Ventures and Time Warner Cable, Inc. for approximately $99 million in cash and retention-based incentives. All the entities are based in the US. Time Warner Cable is an owner and manager of cable TV operations, while Comcast Ventures is a venture capital firm. Earlier, Cisco raised venture funding from Charles River Ventures and Castile Ventures. The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of Cisco's fiscal year 2012.
