INDIA : DRDO plans new solar unmanned air vehicle [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) India's government run Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is seeking to create a solar-run unmanned air vehicle that can continue aerially for a minimum period of one month.

The DRDO stated that the new system can provide long-range attacks and give real-time details through safe data connections.

Sources within the agency stated that the Gas Turbine Research Establishment's native Kaveri engine was considered fit to run a later unmanned combat air vehicle, which is at present the topic of concept studies.

The Kaveri was initially meant to run the Aeronautical Development Agency's Tejas light combat airplane.
