3 charged in Sand Springs bank robbery; inside job allegedAug 12, 2011 (Tulsa World - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Three people were charged Thursday in federal court in Tulsa with robbing the Sand Springs bank where one of them worked. The former employee, Tiffany Lynn Chapman, 20, is accused of plotting with Ryan Andrew McIntosh, 25, and Brooke Ashley Braswell, 21, to rob the IBC Bank at 3402 S. Oklahoma 97 of more than $8,000 on June 14. All three are charged with robbing and conspiring to rob the bank. An FBI affidavit states that a man believed to be McIntosh approached a teller station staffed by Chapman and presented her a note in which he implied that he had a weapon and demanded money. Surveillance video showed that Chapman was on a cell phone minutes before the robbery and -- after being handed the robbery note -- walked away from her station to the back of the teller area for nearly a minute before returning to give money to the robber, according to the affidavit. Chapman made no effort to alert fellow bank employees of the ongoing robbery and in the aftermath complained of a "serious anxiety attack," the document says. On July 28, a Crime Stoppers tipster claimed that McIntosh was the robber and was an associate of a woman who was later determined to be Braswell, the affidavit says. On Wednesday, the FBI and Sand Springs police received another tip from someone who claimed to have overheard McIntosh talking about committing a bank robbery with Braswell as his getaway driver, the document says. Investigators believe that Chapman and Braswell were friends who had attended Mannford High School together, according to the affidavit. All three defendants were in custody as of Thursday evening.
