Casey Anthony verdict: Tampa PR firm offers pro bono work for jurors [The Orlando Sentinel, Fla.]

(Orlando Sentinel (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 08--A Tampa-based public relations firm has an offer for the men and women who decided the fate of Casey Anthony in her murder trial: If you're not charging for your story, they won't charge for representation.

The Publicity Agency announced the offer of pro-bono work on Friday. The reason, founder Glenn Selig said in a statement, was "to help those jurors who want to tell their stories." "Given the public backlash, members of the jury must be scared or worried about speaking," Glenn Selig said. "They may want to speak out but likely feel overwhelmed given the level of media attention.

Anthony, 25, was acquitted on all major charges she faced in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, including first degree murder. The decision has been met by many with outrage.

Though the offer quickly attracted media attention, no jurors had yet contacted the firm as of Friday afternoon, according to marketing and client-relations head Shannon Hannon Oliviero.

The agency is hopeful that will change as news of the offer spreads. "These people do need attention," Hannon Oliviero said. "They need professionals." Of the 12 jurors who decided the case, only two have since given interviews. Jennifer Ford, Juror no. 2, spoke first to ABC's Nightline, and Juror no. 3 spoke anonymously to the St. Petersburg Times.

The offer is limited to jurors who are not seeking to be paid. According to several reports, at least one juror in the case is seeking a five-figure payment in exchange for his story.

The Publicity Agency, Hannon Oliviero said, is seeking jurors who just want to talk, but who may feel intimidated by the case's brighter-than-usual spotlight.

Because of the intense interest in the case, "I think it's very scary," Hannon Oliviero said. "It would be very scary for me to come forward." [email protected] or 407-420-5171 ___ To see more of The Orlando Sentinel or to subscribe to the newspaper, go to http://www.OrlandoSentinel.com.
