Hessen and FrankfurtRhineMain are hosting two exciting speaker panel events in San Francisco, June 1, 2011 and San Jose, June 2, 2011 in cooperation with the German Consulate in San Francisco, German-American Business Association (GABA), and San Jose Office of Economic Development.

Discussions will be on opportunities for U.S. companies in Europe with a focus on Hessen and its strong IT industry. About 77,000 are already employed in Hessen's IT industry, which continues to grow annually. Hessen is Germany's economic growth engine featuring a very dynamic technology sector, and is also a very convenient destination with Frankfurt airport, the international hub for central, northern and eastern Europe.

Prof. Dr. Ralf Steinmetz, Head of the Multimedia Communications Lab, Technische Universität Darmstadt, will provide an update on the IT landscape in Hessen and introduce the House of IT (HIT), a newly established center of excellence for the IT industry. Prof. Dr. Steinmetz is the state advisor for IT. Attendees will hear from the German Consulate General, Peter Rothen,Joe Hedges, International Program Manager, San Jose Office of Economic Development; and Ulrich Plechschmidt, VP of Worldwide Sales Enablement, Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. and CA Technologies (News - Alert).
