Global Graphics Upgrades gDoc PDF Server, PDF Software for Enterprise-Wide PDF Creation

ACTON, Massachusetts, September 28, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Global Graphics (NYSE-Euronext: GLOG): Global Graphics, a developer of PDF and printing software, http://www.globalgraphics.com, today launches version 5.1 of gDoc PDF Server(TM) (http://www.globalgraphics.com/pdf-server) server-based PDF software that manages the conversion of multi-format documents into industry-standard PDF files for distribution, collaboration, input into document management systems and archiving in the corporate enterprise.

gDoc PDF Server enables IT administrators to configure and centrally control multiple PDF workflows using a simple drag and drop management interface. Their PC or Mac users can create PDF files from any file format by selecting a "print to PDF" option, with a single click from Microsoft Office to the integrated toolbar, or by delivering their PostScript(R), TIFF(TM) or EPS files to hot folders. Version 5.1 includes updated platform support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32- and 64-bit) and Windows 7 clients. In addition the integration with Microsoft Office has been updated with a ribbon toolbar, for Office 2007 and Office 2010.

"The IT administrator can set up multiple workflows to suit business Requirements," comments David Stevenson, product manager. "PDF settings can be configured for each workflow path, depending on the destination of the document. The IT administrator retains central control over monitoring and job scheduling, so for example, for high volumes of documents, load-balancing across multiple servers. From where the user sits the conversion process happens seamlessly with minimum performance impact as the server does all the work." gDoc PDF Server v.5.1 key features: Drag and drop workflow interface: this graphical interface simplifies configuration and workflow administration to make it easy to design and centrally manage a PDF workflow. gDoc PDF Server consists of three modules to automate and optimize PDF file conversion. SmartInput(TM) and Queuer(TM) control the file input and output path while the gDoc PDF Module creates the optimized PDF files.

Point and Print: Client installation is straightforward - connect to the shared printer and you are ready. gDoc PDF Server 5.1 makes it easy for the administrator to support a mix of 32- and 64-bit Windows servers and clients.

Optimized files and customization: PDF files produced by gDoc PDF Server can be configured to optimize the file for specific print applications e.g.

high-end or office printing or web publishing. Pre-defined or custom PDF settings can be utilized and to maintain corporate standards administrators can make these options available as printer drivers or hot folders across different departments.

Encryption: 128-bit encryption is supported and users can produce and define encrypted PDF files to restrict viewing, editing and printing capabilities in the case of confidential or sensitive documents.

Integration with Microsoft Office for Windows: users can simply print to PDF or click on a ribbon bar icon that installs in Microsoft Word , Excel and PowerPoint to easily created intelligent PDF files that retain features from the original document such as bookmarks and hyperlinks. As users consolidate files in to create larger documents these features become very important for navigation and search purposes. Mac OS X, Unix and Linux workstations can also print to PDF.
