'Mitel, Arrow ECS ink distribution agreement in France'Sep 24, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Canada-based communications software provider Mitel and Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS), a business segment of Arrow Electronics, have signed a distribution agreement that will expand Mitel's IT software distribution network. The agreement with Arrow ECS will enable the recruitment and development of new Mitel authorised partners in France supporting UC. Mitel is developing channel networks, such as IT distributors and software providers, with a focus on business software integration, virtualisation, cloud computing competencies and associated service features. Unified Communications is included in their IT offerings for business clients. Arrow ECS's resellers will utilise a specific European certification, 'Mitel Virtual Solutions Specialist Partner.' Mitel's strategy has moved away from physical equipment to concentrate on new software developments for businesses. In order to do so, Mitel has signed agreements with VMware for call server virtualisation and communication applications, RIM for the development of Blackberry applications, Microsoft for the interoperability of Microsoft Office Communications Server and Oracle for desktop virtualisation.
