COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

Brian McIntyre, founder and president of WorkStrategy, Inc., awarded four scholarships totaling $20,000 at the Collingswood High School Academic Awards Banquet on May 27th. A former student and resident of Collingswood, New Jersey, Brian started the scholarship program in 2000 and contributed over $260,000 in funds to date. The program was renamed in 2004 to the George F. and Joan D. McIntyre Scholarship Fund in honor of his parents, both of whom had been intimately involved with local charities and educational programs.

The 2010 award recipients were Jasmine Cortez, Casey Deets, Bianca Zeccola, and Imani King. Winners were chosen based on academic proficiency, extra-curricular activities, and desire to major in the field of science or technology.

"Collingswood High School has been blessed for many years by the positive contributions Mr. McIntyre and his family have made not only to our community but to the members of our graduating classes. Since its inception, 52 of our students have benefited from the generosity of the McIntyre family," stated Edward Hill, Collingswood High School's Principal

"The scholarship program is very important to our family. My parents loved the community and were pretty active in the education arena," said Mr. McIntyre, president of WorkStrategy, based in Columbia, Maryland. He added, "These four young people have a bright future ahead of them and we are proud to be able to assist with the high costs of college education."

Madalyn Deets, mother of scholarship recipient Casey Deets commented, "We are overwhelmed by this generous gift and forever grateful to the McIntyre family for their contribution to Casey's education. Casey is proud to be a recipient and I know this will motivate her to do her best."

Mr. Hill added, "Those of us who know Brian understand how deeply he is committed to education. The world will benefit from the fine qualities of mind and spirit that he is helping to nurture and develop. For their commitment to education and our students in particular, we thank Brian and the McIntyre family."

Mrs. Deets added, "At an early age we instilled in our kids the fact that they would have to assume some financial responsibility for their education in order for us to be able to afford to send them to college. Casey is now able to go to her dream school, Arcadia University, and is off to a good start to becoming a great teacher. She is also setting a great example for her two younger siblings to pursue their dreams too."
