Telular Expands Its Line of Residential Cellular Communicators with the New Telguard TG-1 Express

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- Telular Corporation (News - Alert) (NASDAQ: WRLS), a leader in alarm and event monitoring solutions and services, announced today the latest addition to the Telguard residential communicator product line, the TG-1 Express. As Telular's smallest cellular communicator, the flexible features and functionality of the TG-1 Express help reduce cost and installation time in every cell-only, no-landline, and VoIP home. Leveraging Telguard's time-tested, superior quality and robust technology and service, the TG-1 Express transmits full data from security and fire systems to central stations using a nationwide digital cellular network.

This next-generation cellular communicator automatically detects virtually all alarm formats using dial capture for universal panel compatibility. A universally compatible communicator gives installers the freedom to proceed with a quick installation regardless of the existing panel encountered at a site. This capability is critical in the case of takeovers and essential to the growth of a security dealer's business.

"We recognize that the residential security market is in a state of transition because such a large portion of households are getting rid of their landlines. Now, more than ever, cellular is a necessary component for every security system," said Joe Beatty, president and CEO, Telular. "Telular designed the TG-1 Express so that independent security dealers could standardize on an ideal solution for this growing customer base that isn't a burden to install or activate." Small enough to fit in an installer's back pocket, the UL listed TG-1 Express uses the power and backup battery of the security panel eliminating the need for an available wall outlet. The unit also features a new and unique way to connect to the panel for instances when the communicator needs to be installed remotely. The Single Line Interface Cable (SLIC) allows the power and telephony connection to be sent over a single CAT5 cable, similar to how computer networks use Power over Ethernet (PoE). With the SLIC option installers can now remotely mount the TG-1 Express without being limited by the availability of power or the expense of an RF cable run.

The TG-1 Express and Telular's full line of Telguard cellular alarm communicators will be showcased at ISC West, booth #22117, March 24-26, 2010 in the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV. To learn more about Telular's new Telguard TG-1 Express visit www.Telular.com/TG-1Express.
