'Alsatis Telecom launches satellite internet service'

Jan 25, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- French Wi-Fi and WiMAX ISP Alsatis Telecom, which began in the Toulouse area in 2004 and is now present in over 20 departements, has launched satellite internet services using Eutelsat's Tooway offer. Alsatis director Antoine Roussel told Degroup News that customers have a choice of two plans. The Premium plan costs EUR 29.90 per month, without a contract tie-in period, and requires an upfront payment of EUR 350 for the satellite dish and set-top box. The "France Numerique" package costs EUR 34.90 per month on a two-year contract, including the equipment purchase. Both offer up to 3.6 Mbps downstream and up to 384 kbps upstream. Customers can add VoIP as an option.
