US Symantec to take over Gideon Technologies


(M&A Navigator Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US security software maker Symantec Corp (NASDAQ:SYMC) said Tuesday it has agreed to buy privately-held risk management software provider Gideon Technologies, in an effort to widen its product portfolio.



The move will help Symantec to complement its compliance offerings, the company said in a statement.

The deal, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close by the end of March.


No financial details have been disclosed.
