BRIEF: Two robbed walking from workNov 21, 2009 (The Augusta Chronicle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Two Augusta residents told police they were robbed around midnight Friday as they walked home from their jobs. According to a Richmond County sheriff's report, the man and woman were walking home from Lucky Trip Gas Station, 2260 Lumpkin Road, when two males approached them at Shelby Drive and Hummingbird Lane and pointed handguns. One of the robbers was described as black, 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 180 pounds with long dreadlocks. He was wearing all black and a black mask over his face. The other was described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was also wearing all black and a black mask over his face. The woman said that one of the robbers told her to hand over her paycheck while the other placed the barrel of his handgun to the back of the neck of the man she was walking with. The woman gave the thief her black purse, which contained $142 in cash, keys to the Lucky Trip Gas Station, prescription medications and a Motorola I-485 cell phone. The other robber took the man's Samsung Gravity cell phone. The victims said they believe the robbers may have been driving a silver 4-door car with very dark tinted windows because they have seen the vehicle circle around their job before closing time.
