United Steelworkers to vote for a strong, effective, leader: Campaign tore-elect Wayne FraserTORONTO, Nov. 21, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- On November 24 about 80,000 United Steelworkers in Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces will be eligible to vote for their District Director. Wayne Fraser, a life-long Steelworker and a two-term Director, is seeking re-election. Fraser is well known. He's led negotiations, lobbies and plant occupations. Wayne sees through problems to find solutions. His ideas show the way forward, but it's his passion the union needs. Wayne's track record shows how we can win, even when the tide is against us. "I'm proud of the members of our union and I'm confident about our future together. Together we've done so much already. Together we'll do so much more," Fraser says. The campaign is airing radio ads in advance of the one-member one-vote process. Fraser is encouraging all members to get out and exercise their right to vote. "In these tough times the United Steelworkers need a strong, effective leader with a proven track record," Fraser says. "I'm proud to stand on my record and that of my team."
