BRIEF: A fifth person is arrested in video assault case

Nov 21, 2009 (Pioneer Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A fifth person police believe may have assaulted unsuspecting pedestrians and bicyclists in the Twin Cities and then posted the crimes on YouTube turned himself in to authorities Friday.

Abdulahi Farah Ali, 18, whose city of residence was not known Friday, turned himself into police about 5:40 p.m. He was booked into Ramsey County jail on suspicion of assault, assault with bias for age (against the victim), and riot -- all gross misdemeanors.

The six-minute video, which was posted and then taken down after police began scrutinizing it, depicts eight young men posing for a camera. The video goes on to depict twelve separate incidents of young men pushing, shoving and tackling various people as they walk, jog or bike past.

A person appears on the video as "Abdulahi Ali, aka Bighead." A 16-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested in Minneapolis Wednesday in connection with the crime.

Additionally, a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested in St. Paul Tuesday. Both were released pending further investigation.
