Algerian police arrest 12 terrorist suspectsALGIERS, Jun 01, 2009 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Algerian police arrested 12 suspected members of a terrorist cell in the capital city of Algiers, official security sources said Monday. The sources said the action was taken after the confiscation of a dead terrorist's cell phone. Recordings of calls from the phone numbers listed on the phone showed that the arrested suspects have connections with two active pro-al-Qaida terrorist groups in the city of Boumerdas, east of the capital. Investigations also showed one of the suspects had paid visits to foreign countries including France. The authorities also obtained important documents during the arrest operation.
