Arts aplenty

1. If you're looking for a weekend of music, food and entertainment for all ages, you simply can't beat the 42nd annual Festival of the Arts.

Rock on

2. NORMAN -- Do bands with names like The Octopus Project, British Sea Power and Chainsaw Kittens tickle your fancy? If so, you'll want to be a part of the first Norman Music Festival.

The free festival, presented by Wimgo.com and Fowler Auto Group, is from noon to 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of East Main downtown. For a schedule, type "Norman Music Festival" in the search field at www.wimgo.com.



Banjo virtuoso

3. Not too many orchestras have a spot for first-chair banjo. But Buddy Wachter is a virtuoso nonetheless -- delighting music lovers in the U.S., Europe, India and South America.

4. Since 1968 the "working men" of Rush have pushed the limits of progressive rock and have influenced bands from Metallica to Smashing Pumpkins. 5. MOORE -- Relive the heyday of Elvis fandom as tribute champion Johnny Loos performs "Elvis Movie Madness."
