Kaba Announces B-Net mobile HR for Workforce Management

Enterprise workforce management systems provider, Kaba Workforce Solutions has announced its latest workforce management solution B-Net mobile HR, a Time and Attendance tracking technology imbedded in common mobile devices.

The B-Net mobile HR was developed by Kaba for companies that require a high level of flexibility, reliability and transparency for efficient handling of mobile business processes. This new solution is compatible with all of Kaba’s stationary time recording terminals and can also be easily integrated into new or existing time recording systems.

B-Net mobile HR allows time recording via cell phones, BlackBerry (News - Alert) devices or PDAs, to allow for every booking to be recorded in real-time at the time the action is taking place.

This new Kaba solution is also positioned as providing maximum convenience and flexibility for human resources departments at companies with a labor force that includes field employees such as sales or service representatives. The workforce management technology can electronically book the start and end of on-site business related activities via a mobile device and obtain information from their accounts regarding time, absences, sick days, flextime, vacation and more.

This technology provides for real-time transmission of data as soon as the mobile connection to the network operator has been established. The data is them immediately transmitted to a central database for processing. The use of the new B-Net mobile HR delivers significant advantages to all companies with sales representatives, service technicians or nursing personnel.

Beyond the mobile solution for Time and Attendance, the technology can also provide secure access control from the same mobile device. B-Net mobile AC is a highly secure personal identification solution that enables the user to scan or enter a PIN number with their mobile device.

The same device that an employee uses for electronic time and attendance booking can also be used for secure access to a facility, or for short-term events such as limited construction projects, catering services and more. Access is possible with the input of the PIN or through a LEGIC reader and bar code scanner.

Kaba designed B-Net mobile HR for efficiencies that include speed, transparency and cost reductions. The real-time architecture of the solution ensures that data is immediately available and allows for accounting on a day-to-day basis.

Attendance status, overtime information, leave days or absences are consistently up to date. The technology offers qualitatively better and more expedient information for a reporting system that effectively automates HR and payroll administration.

While the advent and availability of such products as the B-Net mobile HR can be an asset to the manager or company that is trying to track employees, one has to question how the employees will perceive such a device. For those who do not mind being micromanaged and feel like they are being watched and tracked at all times, the solution can be a nice fit.

For those that consistently do their jobs and have given no reason for anyone to believe they have faltered on attendance, this device could be seen as an attempt to micromanage and could be rejected. The end result is hard to predict, but there is at least one individual who would find this device to be insulting.
