ORIZIN TECHNOLOGIES IN TALKS WITH RETAILERS FOR RADIO FREQUENCY IDEN TITY (that automatically scans objects over a larger area and can even detect moving and hidden objects)

(India Business Insight Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Orizin Technologies is in talks with retail companies for the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for their front-end operations.

RFID technology helps retailers to automatically scan objects over a larger scanning area and can even detect moving and hidden objects that are tagged with an RFID label.

This will help reduce long queues at billing counters and increase security.

Orizin has proposed to do away with shopping carts and trolleys and introduce `smart baskets' that are RFID-enabled.

Orizin also proposes to introduce RFID customer cards to store details of regular customers.

With the implementation of RFID for billing and security operations at the Sakhi boutique in Bangalore, Orizin has already become the first company to introduce RFID for front-end functions in retail.
