Invention Machine, Open Text To Deliver Integration That Speeds Innovation, Time-to-Market for Customers; Combines Invention Machine's Semantic Indexing and Concept Retrieval Capabilities with Open Text's Livelink ECM Suite

BOSTON --(Business Wire)-- May 10, 2006 -- Invention Machine Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise software that optimizes knowledge creation and accelerates innovation, today announced a global technology agreement with Open Text(TM) Corporation, a leading provider of Enterprise Content Management software.

The integration between Invention Machine's Goldfire Innovator and Open Text's Livelink ECM software suite will enable organizations to more efficiently transform information into knowledge, providing the foundation for accelerated innovation and faster return on concept generation.

Goldfire Innovator empowers global organizations with actionable knowledge to innovate more effectively, improve design and production processes across the product and information lifecycles, and continually fuel product pipelines - delivering more competitive products and faster time-to-market. Open Text's Livelink ECM software suite is used widely among large, global organizations to manage and archive huge volumes of corporate records, emails, documents and other information to improve processes, and meet regulatory compliance and legal requirements.

The integration will let users semantically index and search content in Open Text's LivelinkECM using Goldfire Innovator's proprietary semantic indexing and concept retrieval capabilities. Users will then be able to access relevant content to stimulate ideation and problem-solving.

"Knowledge gaps and knowledge transfer inefficiencies are two problems that plague most organizations as engineers struggle to access, capture and share information across the enterprise, leaving less time for leveraging knowledge into revenue generating concepts," said Jim Todhunter, Chief Technology Officer at Invention Machine. "The integration of Open Text's Livelink with Invention Machine's Goldfire Innovator gives joint customers like Northrop Grumman Navigation Systems Division a powerful solution for leveraging critical content across the product and information lifecycles extracting maximum value from corporate knowledge assets."

"Product innovation and time-to-market are the keys to competitiveness for every company in every market," said Joseph McLaughlin, Senior Vice President of Global Partners at Open Text. "Companies manage huge volumes of information that many times can be the source of great ideas for new products or product enhancements. The question is, what's the best way to tap that information and get to those ideas? With Invention Machine, we're offering a comprehensive solution that does just that for customers."
