China's Inbound Tourists to Reach 120 million in 2006


(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, Apr 28, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --It is expected that foreign tourists will spend USD 75.1 billion (about CNY 588.2 billion) in China this year.

On April 25, China, China Hong Kong SAR and China Macau SAR: Impact of Travel & Tourism on Jobs and the Economy issued by WTTC showed that the number of foreign tourists to China will reach 120 million in 2006, and the shortage of English communication capacity is one of the greatest obstacles for China to attract more foreign tourists to visit China.



The top five tourist source countries respectively are France, Australia, Thailand, Korea and Malaysia, the tourist number growth of which maintains more than 20% in recent years, the top five cities that the foreign tourists visit respectively are Tianjin, Dalian, Qingdao, Beijing and Shanghai. The tourist spending in China increases 29% year on year.
