TAMPA, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- March 21, 2006 -- Effective February 2006, Brendan J. Dawson will serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Numara(TM) Software, Inc. (formerly Blue Ocean Software/Intuit IT Solutions). Numara Software is the new home for Track-It!, the world's most widely installed help desk and asset management tool. A veteran of the information systems industry who has served on the board of seven different companies, Mr. Dawson brings to the chairmanship his extensive operations experience and proven track record in growing software companies.

According to Dawson, he was attracted to the Board opportunity at Numara Software because of its market, product offering and potential for real growth. "Numara Software has real legs," said Dawson. Growth in this market space will outpace other segments in IT spending, and Numara Software is well poised to take advantage of that growth."

Dawson began his career with IBM, where he served in various technical, sales and executive positions until his retirement in 1992. He joined Legent Corporation, the 8th largest software company in the world, where he held a number of senior executive positions before becoming the COO of this $500 million systems management company in 1995. Dawson played a significant role in the successful acquisition of Legent by Computer Associates. While serving on the Board of Information Analysis, he was asked to serve as President and COO to manage the evolution of this publicly-held professional services firm to a software modernization and Y2K remediation product and services company. From 1998-2000, Dawson served initially as an outside consultant and then as a Senior Vice President with the Amdahl Corporation to develop strategies for the disposition of Amdahl's software and services businesses. In this capacity, he played a key liaison role with Fujitsu Systems Inc., the Japan-based parent to Amdahl. Dawson has continued to serve on the Boards of Directors of both public and private software companies since his retirement in 2001.

In December of 2005, TA Associates (www.ta.com) purchased the Blue Ocean Software business unit of Intuit (Nasdaq: INTU) in a $200 million buyout. Founded in 1968, TA Associates is one of the largest and most experienced private equity firms. With offices in Boston, Menlo Park, Calif. and London, the firm manages over $6 billion in capital. Like TA, Dawson sees Numara Software as a company that is poised to grow. "Numara Software is a winner already in its niche, having the ability, over time, to grow organically and through acquisitions in the market," said Dawson.

Dawson will simultaneously serve as Chairman of the Board for Numara Software and for Softek Storage Solutions, a $35 million company based in Vienna, VA. He currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
