Capella University Now Accepting Applications for 'League for Innovation' Doctoral Scholarship; Scholarship from Online University Recognizes Innovators in Community Colleges


MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- March 17, 2006 -- Capella University, in conjunction with the League for Innovation in the Community College, an international consortium serving community colleges, today announced that it is accepting applications for its fifth-annual League for Innovation doctoral scholarship.



The League scholarship is offered to faculty and staff at League member community colleges across the country. The scholarship recognizes exemplary contributions to innovation in the community college. The "full-ride" award, valued at $50,000, covers three years of tuition and fees for doctoral study in education, business and technology, human services, or psychology at Capella University, an accredited* online university based in Minneapolis that helped pioneer online education. In addition, three partial scholarships, each worth $12,000 toward tuition for a doctoral program at Capella, will be awarded.

Jaime Klein, an information technology network communication specialist and business instructor at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, was named the League for Innovation Scholar for 2005. "Winning the scholarship is a dream come true," said Klein, who is pursuing her doctorate in organizational management through Capella University's School of Business and Technology.
