China reports 2 more human bird flu infections+(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, Feb. 25_(Kyodo) _ China's Health Ministry on Saturday reported two new human bird flu cases, according to the official Xinhua News Agency. A 9-year-old girl in eastern China's Zhejiang Province and a 26-year-old woman farmer in eastern China's Anhui Province were confirmed to be infected with the H5N1 strain of the disease, Xinhua said. The girl, surnamed You, is in critical condition, Xinhua said, quoting a report released by the ministry. The woman, surnamed Wang, developed fever and pneumonia symptoms on Feb. 11, Xinhua said, adding that she is also in critical condition. These cases bring the total number of human cases of bird flu in China to 14, including eight deaths. |
