Azerbaijan increases oil production 53.8%, gas - 26.9% in Jan

(Interfax News Agency Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BAKU. Feb 17 (Interfax-Azerbaijan) - Oil production in Azerbaijan in January 2006 increased 53.8% year-on-year to 2.13 million tonnes, the republic's State Statistics Committee said in its monthly report.



Gas production in the reporting period increased 26.9% to 532.7 million cubic meters.

Production of petroleum products at State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) refineries amounted to 588,772 tonnes (3.2% under target). The Azerneftyag refinery produced 261,142 tonnes of products (23.1% under target), and the Aliyev refinery - 327,630 tonnes (22% over target). rd
