IPCC Sponsors Two-Day VoIP Security Workshop; VoIP Technology and Policy Workshop to be Held June 1-2 in Washington, D.C.
FREMONT, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- May 10, 2005 -- The International Packet Communications Consortium (IPCC), the industry's technology forum working to advance Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) over broadband cable, wireless, and wireline, announced today it is sponsoring a two-day VoIP Security Workshop which is co-hosted by the Cyber Security Alliance, the University of North Texas and George Mason University, on June 1-2, 2005 in Washington, D.C. Themed VoIP: Harmonizing Technology and Policy, the workshop is designed to engage government stakeholders, academic researchers and industry leaders in discussions about the technical challenges and implications of policy and law of securing VoIP networks. The workshop will also discuss the priorities the industry and the government has for various aspects of VoIP security, and create an action plan for addressing each of them.
IPCC Chairman Michael Khalilian commented, "We are pleased to work with the Cyber Security Alliance, the University of North Texas and George Mason University as well as other organizations to sponsor this workshop.
