Interstar and Cisco Partner, eNETsolutions, Observe Winning Results in Combining Fax with Email, Voice and Data in VoIP Networks

MONTREAL --(Business Wire)-- May 17, 2005 -- Interstar's XMediusFAX(R) T.38 Fax Server Software is a Time and Money-Saving Unified Messaging Component for eNETsolution's SMB and Cisco Commercial Markets

Interstar Technologies (www.faxserver.com), a leading developer of IP telephony technologies and eNETsolutions, LLC, (www.enetsolutions.net), a Cisco Premier Certified and SMB-Select Partner with a specialization in IP communications, have formed a partnership that is paving the way for several customer success stories in VoIP and unified messaging.

One such success story is about Cooper Compression, a division of Cooper Cameron Corporation, which is a leading international manufacturer of oil and gas pressure control and compression equipment.

eNETsolutions had won a bid with Cooper Compression to provide a Cisco IP Communications solution because of its understanding of the company's business communications and ROI objectives for improved customer service. The solution was comprised of a Cisco AVVID system and Interstar's boardless XMediusFAX T.38 Fax Over IP server software. This combination portrays a comprehensive unified messaging solution, including email, fax, voice and data. Cooper Compression's call center now relies on the new Cisco IP communications solution to handle its customer service calls and fax orders. The company deploys the XMediusFAX server to handle its daily volume of incoming and outgoing faxes.

"The market is still unfamiliar with the boardless Fax over IP concept. We believe Interstar's XMediusFAX server application is a cost-effective alternative for organizations still using modem adapters, since it has dual capabilities of working with or without fax boards," said Craig Hardee, President of eNETsolutions, LLC. Craig is also a member of the Cisco Commercial Channel Advisory Board (CCAB), which provides insight and direction for Cisco products and reseller relationships.

"Whether we are looking at SMBs or commercial segments with 1,500 or more users, customers are starting to realize the benefits of a fax server solution like Interstar's. XMediusFAX is a compelling proposition for them, since it connects directly to Cisco's VoIP gateways and enables faxing from anywhere, saving the consumer thousands of dollars in supplies and productivity," said Craig Hardee.

Interstar's XMediusFAX server is a software-based T.38 Fax Relay solution that Cisco customers can depend on to typically lower telecommunications costs by at least 40% and boost employee productivity by about 90% due to desktop faxing directly from their email client. Interstar holds technology partnerships with a number of major vendor programs, including the Cisco Technology Developer Partner program (formerly named AVVID).

"We are very happy about our partnership with eNETsolutions. They have an integral understanding of Cisco's IP Communications technology for both the SMB and Commercial markets. eNETsolutions has established expertise in helping organizations realize their ROI potentials. They also understand the vital role of T.38 Fax Over IP in any VoIP deployment," said Martin Demers, President and CEO of Interstar Technologies Inc.

About XMediusFAX(R), fax servers and VoIP networks

About a decade ago, VoIP was introduced as a technology that would enable businesses to reap significant cost savings, while offering more features and capabilities, such as improved mobility. While VoIP has already accomplished that to a large degree, faxing in today's VoIP-enabled organizations still remains a legacy technology requiring POTS phone lines and/or specialized equipment. Interstar's XMediusFAX server is the first to accomplish the boardless approach in fax-enabling VoIP networks, while still catering to organizations with legacy fax board deployments.

XMediusFAX is a T.38 Fax Over IP (FoIP) server application that integrates seamlessly with leading IP telephony technologies from companies such as Cisco, 3Com/AudioCodes, and Alcatel. It maximizes ROI, streamlines workflow, and solves analog fax problems by eliminating POTS lines, specialized hardware, paper, toner and maintenance costs.

Currently, IP fax server solutions on the market require both fax boards and VoIP gateways to operate, and are therefore more expensive and complicated to support. The XMediusFAX server differentiates itself from the competition by solely requiring either VoIP gateways or fax boards, not both.

The XMediusFAX server is an essential component of unified messaging. Faxes can now share a common inbox, along with email, voice and data. Users can send and receive faxes directly from Microsoft Outlook, an SMTP email client, or any T.37-compliant multifunction device (MFD). XMediusFAX, runs on Windows 2000 and 2003, and is available in Enterprise, Express and Service Provider (EE, X and SP) editions. Various email messaging platforms supported include Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003, Lotus Notes, SAP and Cisco Unity. Other key features include support for H.323 and SIP, SMTP/POP3, Least Cost Routing (LCR), G4 TIF file format, redundancy for mission critical applications, Active Directory synchronization, MMC Snap-in, HTML email notification, optional API modules, and a client for advanced fax functionalities.
