Paradyne Establishes Early Market Leadership With Launch of ADSL2+

CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- June 22, 2004 -- Paradyne (Nasdaq:PDYN) today announced the launch and rapid market adoption of ADSL2+, the breakthrough standards-based broadband access technology that enables telecommunications service providers to leap ahead of competitive providers. ADSL2+ runs over the existing telephone wireline infrastructure at rates exceeding 24 Mbps, ample bandwidth to support digital television in addition to multiple voice lines and high-speed networking.

"While other access equipment vendors are struggling with the implementation of ADSL2+, Paradyne has begun full-scale deployments with service providers around the world, establishing early market leadership in this major broadband technology development," said Sean Belanger, president and CEO of Paradyne.

Paradyne's implementation of ADSL2+ is supported throughout the company's high, medium and low-density line of Broadband Access Concentrators, which are deployed by telephone companies throughout the United States and worldwide. High-density 24-port and ultra high-density 48-port versions are available for central office applications using Paradyne's large and medium-chassis Broadband Access Concentrators. Paradyne also offers a 1U mini-DSLAM featuring ADSL2+ that is cost-effectively deployed in remote cabinets; the mini-DSLAMs provide reliable performance, especially where severe weather conditions present challenges for network operators.

Paradyne is presenting its complete line of broadband access equipment at SUPERCOMM 2004 in Chicago this week.
