Checkpoint Announces Its Contract With CVS/Pharmacy to Install Digital Radio Frequency EAS Technology in a Chain-Wide Rollout; 5,300 Stores to Be Outfitted

THOROFARE, N.J. --(Business Wire)-- July 8, 2004 -- Checkpoint Systems, Inc., (NYSE: CKP), the leading provider of radio frequency-based product identification and shrink management solutions for retailers and consumer package goods manufacturers worldwide, today announced its agreement with retail pharmaceutical chain CVS/pharmacy, Inc. for the chain-wide installation of radio frequency Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) technology.

Checkpoint will outfit all 5,300 CVS stores with its Liberty PX antennas, providing CVS with the industry's most advanced Digital RF EAS solution.
