Edify and Microsoft to Deliver Integrated Speech Solutions

Edify Corporation, a leading global supplier of voice and speech solutions, today announced that it is entering into a partnership relationship with Microsoft.

As a Microsoft Speech Partner, Edify will work with Microsoft to deliver comprehensive speech solutions for the marketplace based on Microsoft Speech Server, the speech platform for Speech Application Language Tags (SALT)-based telephony and multi-modal applications. This relationship will complement Edify's current initiatives to expand its platform into new markets.

With its powerful application development environment, natural language expertise and thirteen years' experience in developing and deploying speech solutions, Edify is well positioned to offer packaged speech applications for the Speech Server and to enable business users to develop and customize SALT based applications as they do today on Edify's open platform.

"With the commitment to standards like SALT and the pending launch of Microsoft's Speech Server at the end of March, Microsoft will enhance the widespread adoption of speech technologies," said Kevin Ichhpurani, director of strategic alliances at Edify. "Edify has more than 2,000 customers who have deployed voice and speech recognition solutions. We will be delivering speech solutions tailored to meet customers' business requirements."

"Edify shares our vision for making speech a pervasive, mainstream technology, and we are very proud to welcome them into the Microsoft Speech Partner Program," said James Mastan, director of marketing for the Speech Technologies team at Microsoft. "With their extensive natural-language expertise and software solutions experience, Edify will help us extend the delivery of the Microsoft Speech Server, enabling enterprises to deploy sophisticated speech-enabled applications that deliver significant business value."
