Salesforce.com Announces Free, Seamless Migration For Discontinued Siebel UpShot Customers

Salesforce.com announced the immediate availability of free, seamless migration for discontinued Siebel UpShot customers to salesforce.com. Salesforce.com is launching the SureShot Migration Program in response to Siebel's decision to acquire UpShot, whose 1,000 customers have
invested in the software-as-service customer relationship management (CRM) business model. After migrating, customers will be able to take advantage of the award-winning features and functionality of salesforce.com's industry-leading CRM service at no cost for three months, after which salesforce.com will honor the terms of their existing contract with UpShot.

Discontinued Siebel UpShot customers who are already realizing the benefits of on-demand CRM without the costs and impact associated with implementing, integrating and maintaining complex conventional software solutions now have an attractive alternative in salesforce.com, reducing the risk of moving to an unproven Siebel solution. With salesforce.com, customers can avoid an uncertain future and
enjoy the security of salesforce.com's established solution that delivers secure, easy to use and successful CRM service to more than 8,000 customers and 110,000 subscribers daily.

We switched to salesforce.com from UpShot for a variety of reasons, said Jim Johnston, founder and vice president, DSLindiana.com. Salesforce.com provided a full-featured, robust service which was an across the board improvement over UpShot. The easy-to-use intuitive interface allowed our employees to get up and running quickly. In particular the system performance, forecasting, and customer
support features of salesforce.com met our needs in ways that UpShot did not.

As part of the SureShot program, discontinued Siebel UpShot customers will be able to quickly and seamlessly transfer all of their customer data and information into salesforce.com with a specialized migration tool. In addition to free training, salesforce.com will also provide Siebel UpShot customers free admission to Dreamforce (www.salesforce.com/dreamforce
<http://www.salesforce.com/dreamforce>), the salesforce.com user conference, taking place November 9-11, 2003, in San Francisco, for hands-on instruction and education.

Discontinued Siebel UpShot customers that migrate to salesforce.com are immediately upgrading to the benefits of an award-winning, complete CRM solution. Salesforce.com goes far beyond current Upshot sales force automation capabilities to encompass complete marketing automation, customer service management, knowledge management, and document and file management. Customers can also enjoy the
benefits of advanced features such as sforce integration capabilities, multi-national support for 11 languages and all currencies, mobile and PDA access, desktop integration with Outlook, Lotus Notes, Excel and Word, and built-in customizable analytics and dashboards.

The choice for discontinued Siebel UpShot customers is clear: free migration to the leading software-as-service CRM solution or risk dying on the vine waiting for Siebel to figure out their strategy, said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. Discontinued Siebel UpShot customers have every right to be concerned. Siebel has said that they will do no further development of the UpShot
