Zoran Uses Kilopass XPM Memory in Consumer Electronic Chips

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SANTA CLARA, CA, September 26 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Kilopass
Technology, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor non-volatile
memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), today announced that Zoran
Corporation, is using Kilopass'
extra-permanent memory (XPM) technology in its latest DTV products. The
XPM technology supports security protocols in HDTV integrated processors
and other multimedia products. This version of Kilopass' XPM technology is
targeted for 80nm processes. Zoran is an established provider of digital
solutions for applications in the digital entertainment and digital imaging
markets and a Kilopass customer since 2004.

XPM is used to support the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and
its high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) encryption algorithms
for transmitting uncompressed digital video streams and for other system
configuration parameters.

"We use Kilopass' XPM memory for products that require security," said
Gerard Yeh, VP of DTV VLSI Engineering, Zoran. "Kilopass' XPM technology
and support teams help us control costs and add value by storing the HDCP
keys on chip."

"Kilopass' goal is to make XPM the defacto, on-chip, NVM standard for
on-chip security applications," said Craig Rawlings, Director of Marketing,
Kilopass.

Kilopass began shipping XPM technology in June 2003. To date, its customers
have fabricated 30 million units utilizing Kilopass XPM memory. The company
was founded in November 2001 and currently has more than 50 customers. Many
of these customers have embedded the XPM technology in multiple products.
