Zipwhip Ranked 5th Fastest-Growing Company in Washington State on Deloitte 2018 Technology Fast 500™

Zipwhip, the original cloud software platform for two-way business texting, today announced it ranked the 5th fastest-growing company in Washington state on the Deloitte (News - Alert) Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in North America. Securing the number 137 slot nationally, Zipwhip's 818 percent three-year revenue growth also moves the company up more than 200 spots from its 363rd place ranking in 2017.

"Zipwhip may have created the business texting industry, but we haven't stopped there. We plan to remain at the forefront of innovation as modern communication needs evolve," said John Lauer, CEO and co-founder, Zipwhip. "The simple fact is that people want to text. Zipwhip's continued growth, and this recognition from Deloitte, reaffirm this demand and motivate our team to deliver the next generation of business-to-consumer communication."

Zipwhip attributes its more than 800 percent revenue growth to ongoing product innovation and a customer-centric approach, supported by nearly $40 million in company funding to-date and a growing user base of over 20,000 businesses. With sights set on guiding the industry into the future of business-to-consumer engagement, Zipwhip recently introduced rich communication services (RCS) capabilities, announced the second iteration of its SaaS (News - Alert) platform and added to the company's executive leadership team. The company has also expanded its local Seattle presence, with recognition as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the region and fourth fastest-growing private company from the Puget Sound Business Journal.

"Congratulations to the Deloitte 2018 Technology Fast 500 winners on this impressive achievement," said Sandra Shirai, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, and U.S. technology, media and telecommunications leader. "These companies are innovators who have converted their disruptive ideas into products, services and experiences that can captivate new customers and drive remarkable growth."

"Software, which accounts for nearly two of every three companies on the list, continues to produce some of the most exciting technologies of the 21st century, including innovations in artificial intelligence, predictive analytics and robotics," said Mohana Dissanayake, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Industry Leader for technology, media and telecommunications, within Deloitte's audit and assurance practice. "This year's ranking demonstrates what is likely a national phenomenon, where many companies from all parts of America are transforming the way we do business by combining breakthrough research and development, entrepreneurship and rapid growth."
