Zinkia Entertainment Releases Talking Pocoyo App

Apr 02, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Zinkia Entertainment, creators of preschool animation property Pocoyo, have unveiled a new app on iTunes, Talking Pocoyo.

In a release, the Company noted that the new Talking Pocoyo app features a fully animated 3D Pocoyo, speech recognition, and video recording options. It is available for the iPhone.

Speech recognition allows Pocoyo to repeat anything that is said to him and 3D animation triggers Pocoyo to come to life when poked, played or tickled on touch-screen devices.

Other features allow children to: -Imitate Pocoyo's incomparable and distinctive dance moves.

-Play a musical instrument and discover ten prerecorded melodies to dance to along with Pocoyo.

-Guess which animal Pocoyo is imitating.

-Record everything Pocoyo does and share it with family and friends on Facebook or YouTube.

Additional dances and musical instruments are available with the in App Purchase shopping cart.

The Talking Pocoyo app is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, French, German and Italian.

"Our first Pocoyo app, Pocoyize, fueled over 14 million downloads via iTunes and online combined and quickly earned the distinction of being one of the most downloaded apps in markets ranging from Japan to Mexico and Spain," said Maria Doolan, Managing Director, Brand and Business Development, Zinkia Entertainment. "Talking Pocoyo gives fans a higher level of engagement for Pocoyo's worldwide fan base and unlimited fun." Genera Interactive is Zinkia's development partner for Talking Pocoyo.


Zinkia Entertainment signed a Ready to Learn educational partnership in the U.S. with the Hispanic and Telecommunications Network, that will establish Pocoyo as the foundation for the English Language Learning component of Project LAMP.

Through this partnership, HITN will bring Pocoyo to a series of tablet, smart phone and web-based programming designed to aid preschool children in developing critical literacy skills in English.
