Additionally, Dr. Akbari has extensive private and public company board governance and oversight experience. She currently serves on a number of private and public company board of directors including Banco Santander, S.A. and Landstar System, Inc. Dr. Akbari holds a Ph.D. with honors in particle physics from Tufts University and an MBA with distinction from Carnegie Mellon University, where she is currently a member of The Tepper School of Business Board of Advisors. In addition, Dr. Akbari was the inaugural chair of the Johns Hopkins University Physics and Astronomy Advisory Council from 2013-2018. She is the author of more than 50 scientific and management articles in international journals, holds two patents in IoT/M2M and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
