WiTricity Selects Morris Kesler, Ph.D. as Chief Technology Officer [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WiTricity said that it has named Morris Kesler, Ph.D. as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Kesler, who has served as WiTricity's Vice President of Research and Development, replaces Katie Hall, Ph.D. as WiTricity CTO. Dr. Hall will remain associated with the company as a key technology advisor, the Company noted in its release.

In this new role, WiTricity said that Kesler will lead the strategic vision for the company's foundational wireless power transfer technology. As part of the original WiTricity team, Kesler has been intimately involved in the evolution of the Company's technology, from a concept demonstrated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2007 to serving as the backbone of developing industry standards from the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) in the consumer electronics space and the Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for wireless charging of electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Part of Kesler's responsibilities will be to ensure that WiTricity stays at the technological vanguard for wireless power transfer over distance via magnetic resonance.

"We're excited that Morris will be assuming the CTO role and driving our technology vision going forward," said Alex Gruzen, WiTricity CEO. "Morris' deep experience in the wireless power transfer industry, as well as his ongoing work in developing wireless power transfer systems based on WiTricity technology, will allow us to maintain and extend our lead in technology innovations." Dr. Kesler joined WiTricity in 2007 as Chief Engineer before being named Vice President of Research and Development in 2013.
