WISH to host Universal Health Coverage forum [Peninsula, The (Qatar)](Peninsula, The (Qatar) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DOHA: The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), a global initiative of Qatar Foundation (QF), in its 2015 summit will host a forum on Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Sir David Nicholson (pictured), a former chief executive of NHS England, has been appointed to chair it. With a booming global population and increasing wealth inequality, international bodies such as the World Bank and World Health Organization have called on policymakers to prioritise the development of UHC. The summit, in Doha on February 17-18, will play a key role in addressing and trying to find solutions to the most pressing global health issues, including UHC for all by engaging dialogue between policymakers, academics and industry leaders. The forum will support policymakers by considering key questions they face as they move towards UHC, and develop recommendations as part of an evidence-based report for the summit. Sir David said, "It is our duty to ensure that no one is left without access to quality healthcare simply because they cannot afford it. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the forum to develop new approaches to an issue that is moving very swiftly to the top of the global policy agenda." Sir David served as chief executive of NHS from 2006 to 2014. He is regarded for overseeing reforms in NHS finances. Prior to this, he occupied senior roles in NHS.
