Weekend thefts and damages total $15,000 [The Moultrie Observer, Ga.]

(Moultrie Observer (GA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 27--MOULTRIE -- A total of 13 people and two businesses reported being the victims of property theft over the weekend. Items reported stolen included video game systems, electronics, cell phones, guns, yard equipment, an air conditioner, pivot wiring, tools and a Civil War era sword.



The value of the items reported stolen was estimated at about $15,021. Those who reported being the victims of theft were: --An employee at Verizon Wireless on South Veterans Parkway reported a thief stole a Blackberry cell phone on display Sunday. The value of the stolen cell phone was $500.

--Frankie Peterson, of Ninth Street Southwest, reported a thief broke out a window and stole a Microsoft X-box 360, an X-box game and costume jewelry Sunday. The value of the stolen items was $355.



--William Hickman, of Taylor Lane, reported a male acquaintance stole a Marlin rifle with scope and pawned it between Oct. 20 and 1:43 p.m. Saturday. The value of the stolen rifle was $250.

--Adrian Rogers reported a thief stole his debit card after he left it at Sonic on First Avenue Southeast and used it to make nine purchases between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 9 p.m. Friday. The amount of the fraudulent purchases was about $321.

--Jimmy Williams, of Fourth Avenue Northwest, reported a thief stole a Magnavox 19-inch television/DVD player, a George Foreman grill and a set of aluminum pots between 4 p.m. Thursday and 1:50 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $170.

--An employee with the City of Moultrie reported a thief tried to pry open a door of a trailer on First Avenue Southeast and stole an air conditioning unit between Oct. 20 and 12:32 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen air conditioner was $4,000.

--Glenda Bridges, of Clubview Drive, reported a thief stole Echo hedge clippers from her shed Friday. The value of the stolen hedge clippers was $400.

--Jimmy Stegall, of Woods Road in Norman Park, reported a thief stole a Ruger .22-caliber pistol from his truck between Wednesday and 8:15 a.m. Saturday. The value of the stolen pistol was $400.

--Corey Jarvis, of Overlook Drive, reported a thief stole a Briggs and Stratton generator from his truck between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. The value of the stolen generator was $200. Jarvis gave sheriff's deputies the name of a male suspect.

--Felicia Young, of South Boulevard, reported a thief kicked in a door and stole a Vizio television and DVD player and a television between 10 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $625.

--Donald Wingate reported a thief stole wires from a pivot in his field on Patch Road in Norman Park between Oct. 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday. The value of the stolen wires was $1,000.

--Dewayne Blaine reported a thief broke a side door window at a house on John Buck McCoy Road in Berlin and stole a Nintendo Wii and five Wii games between 6:50 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $500.

--Clarence Lowe, of Ellenton-Norman Park Road in Norman Park, reported a thief stole wires from four pivot distribution boxes between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday. The value of the stolen wires was estimated at $4,000.

--Steve Rea reported a thief stole his grandfather's Civil War sword from a house on Fairway Lane between Oct. 20 and 11:30 a.m. Friday. The value of the stolen sword was $1,500.

--Peter Phillips, of Joe Sumner Road in Ashburn, reported a male acquaintance stole a Milwaukee drill and a Clark welder and pawned them in Moultrie between Oct. 13 and 2:30 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $800.

Arrests: Moultrie Police --Juan Sebastian Pascual, 35, of 117 Ninth Ave. N.E., was charged Sunday with battery (family violence).

--Dexter Herring, 37, of 609 First St. N.W., was charged Sunday with public drunkenness.

--Timothy McNealy, 30, of 621 Ninth St. S.W., was charged Saturday with theft by shoplifting. He allegedly tried to steal a car CD/mp3 player, valued at about $86, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

--Eugene Cribb, 43, of 221 Willow Drive, was charged Saturday with theft by shoplifting and disorderly conduct. He allegedly tried to steal a can of spray paint, valued at $5.27, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

--Mario Sanchez, 24, of 1708 First Ave. S.E., was charged Saturday with theft by shoplifting. He allegedly tried to steal various food and drink items, valued at $49.15, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

--Felicia Anne Ponder, 29, of 1833 Old Albany Road, was charged Saturday with cruelty to children. She allegedly left an infant locked inside a GMC Yukon at the Dollar General on First Avenue Southeast.

--Savonta Lameir Slaughter, 41, of 1632 Old Doerun Road, was charged Saturday with simple battery (family violence) and disorderly conduct.

--Willie Lawrence Bender, 49, of 614 Second Ave. N.W., was charged Saturday with driving with a suspended license and a child restraint violation.

--Mildred Louise Head, 50, of 123 Sixth St. S.W., was charged Friday with impeding the free flow of traffic.

--Timothy Debarge Slaughter, 23, of 831 Shy Manor Drive, Apt. 1, was charged Friday with theft by shoplifting. He allegedly tried to steal two seat covers, valued at $40, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

--Eladio Solano Urbano, 25, of 1128 Circle Road, was charged Friday with driving without a license and running a red light.

--Suelynn Shiver, 30, of 1120 14th St. S.E., was charged Friday with theft by shoplifting (third offense). She allegedly tried to steal a bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila, valued at $35, from Moultrie Package on North Veterans Parkway.

--Erica Denise Langley, 26, of 908 Fourth Ave. S.W., was charged Friday with simple battery.

--Kendra N. Kinsey, 22, of 908 Fourth Ave. S.W., was charged Friday with simple battery.

--A juvenile boy was charged Thursday with theft by taking. He allegedly tried to steal a bag of tobacco items, valued at $95, from the Swisher Sweets/Red Man tent at the Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition on Highway 133 South.

--Ricardo Hamilton, 21, of 816 Northside Drive, Apt. 2, was charged Friday with two counts of reckless conduct and two counts of probation violation.

--Jelessa Renae Holloway, 19, of 616 Fourth St. S.W., was charged Sunday with simple battery, theft by taking and probation violation.

--Shondale Nicole Spicer, 25, of 611-E Ninth Ave. N.W., was charged Sunday with a child restraint violation and driving with a suspended license.

--Gilbert Alexander Aviles, 21, of 307 Hanover Road in Norman Park, was charged Sunday with driving without a license.

Colquitt County Sheriff's Office --Antonio Diaz Juarez, 20, of 615 Fourth St. N.E. in Cairo, was charged Thursday with driving without a license and an improper tag display.

--Arturo Gonzalez, 29, of 128 N. Pine Drive, was charged Friday with battery.

--Willie Christian, 26, of 415 11th Court N.W., was charged Thursday with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and theft by receiving stolen property.

Doerun Police --Steven D. Richardson, 29, of 21 W. Union Circle in Doerun, was charged Thursday with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and possession of cocaine.

Other Incidents: Moultrie Police --An employee at Hip Hop Fish and Chicken on West Central Avenue reported someone called in two large orders Saturday but never picked them up. The value of the food ordered was $200. Officers were given the name of a female suspect.

--An employee at Wendy's on First Avenue Southeast reported two black males, one holding a gun, approached her and ordered her to stop Sunday. When the employee entered the restaurant, the two men fled the scene.

--Tanikka Mathis, of First Avenue Northwest, reported someone struck the driver's side door of her Honda Civic, leaving a dent, while riding a bicycle Friday. Damage was estimated at $100.

Colquitt County Sheriff's Office --Christopher Bennett, of Overlook Drive, reported someone broke out the rear window and a passenger window of his Volkswagen Beetle between 12:01 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Damage was about $575. Bennett gave sheriff's deputies the name of a male suspect.
