Watch for it: New TV magazine included free in today's Telegram

When trying to decide something as crucial as what to watch on television, it helps to have as much information as possible.
In short, more is better.
So starting today, The Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram is offering readers more TV viewing information and related features than ever before.
The old 12-page OnScreen TV section has been replaced by TV Weekly, a 44-page glossy magazine. TV Weekly will be offered for free for two weeks in the Telegram, after which it will be available at a highly discounted rate to subscribers and delivered on Saturdays.
TV Weekly features expanded program listings and grids, puzzles, quizzes, celebrity news and features and horoscopes. There is also a cable conversion chart, an A-to-Z listing of movies, and a larger typeface than other TV publications.
The magazine is produced by NTVB Media, which has successfully produced similar TV books in about 70 markets nationwide.
"As the person primarily responsible for our content, switching from OnScreen to TV Weekly was a no-brainer for me. Anyone who uses a TV book should immediately see that the information in TV Weekly is so much more comprehensive and complete than OnScreen was," said Scott Wasser, executive editor of The Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram.
"TV Weekly is, plain and simple, a far superior product. It's a real magazine with over 40 pages of TV-related features, highlights, synopses and detailed listings. And it's available to our subscribers at a cost far below the newsstand price, making it a great value."
It's important to note that The Press Herald will continue to print a daily primetime TV grid, and the Maine Sunday Telegram will now include a similar grid. All of the puzzles, advice columns, horoscopes and other regular features currently offered in the newspapers will continue unchanged.
The only thing that's going away is OnScreen.
