Volkswagen Group of America Appoints Mario Guerreiro as Executive Vice President, Group Communications


(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HERNDON, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/18/14 -- Volkswagen Group of America today announced the appointment of Mario Guerreiro (56) to the position of Executive Vice President, Volkswagen Group of America Communications. In this role, Guerreiro will be responsible for all aspects of Communications for the Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen Brand. This includes corporate media relations, brand communications, all public relations campaigns, and internal communications. Guerreiro will assume the position on Oct. 1, 2014.

Following his career as a motoring journalist for various publications in his home country of Portugal, Guerreiro joined SEAT, S.A., the Spanish car manufacturer owned by the Volkswagen Group, in 1990 where he was later appointed Director of Communications in charge of the company's global communications activities. He moved to Audi AG in 2006, where he was appointed Audi's Director of Communications for the US West Coast based in Los Angeles. Most recently, Guerreiro served in the role of Head of International Communications in Group Communications at the Volkswagen Group headquarters in Germany where he oversaw global product and corporate communications, coordinated the communications between all Group brands and was responsible for looking after Volkswagen PR managers outside Germany as well as the international media.
