Vodafone extends M2M deal with BMW to Brazil [New Vision (Uganda)]

(New Vision (Uganda) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Vodafone, in partnership with Datora Mobile, announced a contract with BMW Group for M2M services for the latest model of the manufacturer in Brazil, the BMW i3, reports Convergencia Digital. A Vodafone Sim card supports the ConectedDrive technology of the vehicle, which allows access to the internet on a wide screen in the dashboard and interaction with smartphones from various applications and GPS navigation. The system also provides a concierge service, with telephone switchboard. In case of a serious accident, the system automatically establishes a contact with the SAMU (Emergency Medical Care Service), sending vehicle location and accurate data, recorded by telemetry, about what happened, how many people on board and blown airbags.
