Visionworks and Davis Vision Announce National Sponsorship of American Diabetes Association's Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes


Visionworks and Davis Vision today announced a national promotional sponsorship of the American Diabetes Association's Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. Visionworks and Davis Vision's Focus on America community outreach program will participate in the Walk to Stop Diabetes in cities throughout the U.S. to showcase support and help rally communities to join. The eyewear retailer and managed vision care provider have committed to support the walks by providing key associates to promote and spread awareness of the importance of healthy vision for people with diabetes at many of the Association's Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes events throughout the U.S.

The leading cause of blindness in working-age American adults is diabetes and most people do not realize that an annual eye exam can uncover many diseases including high blood pressure and diabetes. Through this sponsorship, Visionworks and Davis Visions' goal is to educate and encourage both children and adults to get yearly eye exams in an effort to protect eyes and overall health.
