ViryaNet Joins with Aberdeen Group and Mobile Enterprise Magazine to Conduct Industry Webcast on Topic of Managing Complex Work

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- ViryaNet (OTC BB: VRYAE), a leading provider of software applications that automate business processes for mobile workforce management, today announced that it will conduct an industry webcast with market research firm Aberdeen Group and Mobile Enterprise Magazine on the topic of Managing Complex Work. The event will also feature Nova Scotia Power, a premier utility on the forefront of leveraging solutions for managing complex work. The free webcast will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EDT on September 9, 2008.

"In today's market, most software providers within the field service sector focus only the simple work of reading meters, installing cables, performing PM, and similar tasks," stated Edward Krufka, vice president of marketing, ViryaNet. "While this single dimensional work is important, it represents a small subset of the total work facing today's field service providers. ViryaNet understands that today's service organizations conduct a wide range of work, from simple to complex, and our web seminar focuses on industry best practices for managing the simple and the complex jobs within a single enterprise platform."

The free webcast will be conducted:

-- Tuesday, September 9, 2008

-- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time

-- Registration details: http://www.mobileenterprisemag.com/viryanet

Companies with field service operations within the utility, telecommunications, retail, insurance, construction and general service sectors are invited to this free webcast. The webcast is geared toward senior executives of service, operations, and IT; and service personnel involved in field supervision, dispatch, and delivery.

The webcast will feature four industry experts: Jack McAvoy, research director, Aberdeen Group; Susan Nunziata, webcast facilitator and editor-in-chief, Mobile Enterprise Magazine, Tony Folkins, Director of Customer Service, Nova Scotia Power, and Edward Krufka, vice president of marketing, ViryaNet.

The webcast will highlight many of the findings in a recently published Aberdeen report, entitled Complex Service Work: Scheduling Technicians, Crews, and Physical Resources, and review the best practices of leading firms that use advanced scheduling software to better manage long-duration, resource-intensive, and costly projects.

The aforementioned report illustrated how deploying scheduling software, coupled with business intelligence (BI), project management, parts management, and smart field devices, yields improved financial and operational performance.

Benefits are many, and include

Efficiency -- Consolidating all technicians on a single platform optimizes resource utilization.

Savings -- Getting the right people and parts to the right place at the right time precludes unnecessary truck rolls and eliminates overtime.

Consistency -- Automating all planning and dispatching functions -- for both simple and complex work -- ensures that your organization's business rules are applied to all scenarios.

Quality -- Automating the mundane and tedious functions of scheduling and dispatching workers and resources enables the dispatcher and supervisor to focus on managing exceptions.

Improved Communication -- Supporting bi-directional communication keeps both the field and headquarters aware of important changes and updates, such as job status, materials used, and time sheet submissions.
