(Campaign Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Virgin Games, the online gambling arm of Richard Branson's Virgin Group, is in the hunt for a digital agency to handle its online brand advertising.
Ross Sleight, the marketing director of Virgin Games, has contacted a number of digital agencies with a brief to produce a strong creative idea for its range of online betting games. Virgin Games has run online advertising in the past but, to date, creative has been produced in- house.
The site, virgingames.com, contains four areas: Virgin Casino, Virgin Poker, Virgin Bingo and Virgin Skills. As well as cash, prizes include Virgin products and services, including a holiday on Necker, Branson's private Carib-bean island.
The online gaming market is a lucrative one, with online poker in particular enjoying a spurt of growth. Poker sites claim that more than pounds 600,000 is staked online every minute.
Global revenues currently exceed dollars 1billion. This figure is predicted to rise to dollars 4.6 billion by 2009.
