Vietnamese Deputy PM Khoan receives Bangladeshi finance minister

(Thai Press Reports Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Section: Regional News - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan received visiting Bangladeshi Minister of Finance and Planning Mohammad Salifur Rahman in Hanoi on February 6.

Deputy PM Khoan welcomed Rahman's working visit and expressed his thanks to Bangladesh for its support for Vietnam's bid to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Economic and trade relations between the two countries have steadily developed over the past five years, Khoan said.

To continue increasing two-way trade, Khoan expressed his hope that the two countries will encourage their enterprises to boost market research and production cooperation, improve payment methods for enterprises and strengthen cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the South Asian Countries (SAC).



Rahman said that Bangladesh and Vietnam are developing countries and that they have much in common in the economic reform process. He agreed with the Deputy PM Khoan that the two countries should further boost their economic and trade cooperation. He also expressed his hope of learning from Vietnam's experiences in processing agricultural products. - VNA
