Vietnam: Finance Ministry to control treasury payments

(Thai Press Reports Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Section: Regional News - The Ministry of Finance will tighten regulations on cash payments and collections via the State treasury.

Under a new circular issued by the ministry, cash payments and collections will be more closely monitored. Payment in excess of 5 million VND (320 USD) for goods and services made to organisations and individuals with bank accounts can no longer be made in cash.



Payments to individuals, including wages, allowances, scholarships, and bonus and insurance premiums can still be paid from the State budget in cash.

Payments for certain basic construction expenses, including direct payments for site clearance and management board expenses, can also continue to be made in cash. - VNA
