Vietnam: Equitised enterprises earn 140 percent profit increase

(Thai Press Reports Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Section: Regional News - Equitised enterprises performed efficiently in 2005, earning average year-on-year increases of 24 percent in revenue and 140 percent in profit, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).



About 87 percent of the 850 surveyed enterprises reported that their financial situation greatly improved after equtisation.

The MPI further said that 754 State-owned enterprises were re-arranged in 2005 with 724 of them equitised, bringing the number of equitised enterprises to 2,996 since 1992.



The State-owned sector plans to continue the equitisation process, set up large corporations and make necessary preparation to implement the Unified Enterprise Law. - VNA
