Verizon Wireless activates new cell site in Savannah
May 31, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Verizon Wireless has reported that it is investing in Wayne County and expanding its local coverage with a new cell site in Savannah.
The new site is expected to improve coverage and capacity along Route 89 between Cotton Road and Severance Road, in the town of Savannah, and west on Route 31 to Hadden Road.
The network expansion is part of the company's multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the increasing demand for Verizon's voice and data services.
Gene Fassett, executive director of network for Verizon Wireless's Upstate New York region, said: "We have always believed even the most advanced device is only as good as the network it runs on. We continue to aggressively invest in our Upstate New York network to increase coverage and capacity for our customers, add new services, and maintain our 3G network leadership."
