Verizon: Verizon's New 'Quad-Play' Bundle Offers Customers Wireless Calling With Home Phone, TV and Broadband in Money-Saving Combinations

NEW YORK, Oct 19, 2009 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Verizon customers in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets can save with new versatile service packages that combine wireless, TV, Internet and home phone services, creating the company's first fully integrated communications and entertainment bundles carried over its top-rated 3G wireless and reliable landline networks.

The new bundles include Verizon's first "quad-play" of wireless calling, home phone, broadband Internet and TV services. The packages are available to customers who are served by Verizon's market-leading FiOS services or Verizon's fast, affordable High Speed Internet (HSI), and DIRECTV "Consumers want the best communication and entertainment," said Mike Ritter, Verizon chief marketing officer for consumer wireline and business services. "These plans let consumers get it all by offering the ultimate voice, entertainment and online experiences at home and on the go, combining all of our powerful services with maximum convenience and measurable savings." With four services all on one bill, qualifying quad-play customers will save from $59 to $179 per year, depending upon which bundle they order. Customers already save money when ordering voice, broadband and TV services purchased as part of a triple- or double-play bundle, compared with ordering services individually.

Verizon is also offering similar packages without traditional home phone service. It's part of Verizon's commitment to offer consumers greater flexibility and the widest range of premium service options to meet their specific lifestyles.

"We recognize that some customers prefer to use Verizon Wireless as their primary voice service while others appreciate the reliable convenience and the peace of mind that comes with a wired home phone as well," said Ritter. "We're offering the freedom and flexibility for customers to choose the Verizon voice service or combination of services that meets their individual or family needs, together with our complete line of industry-leading home-entertainment options." Verizon's quad-play bundles will initially be available in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets where Verizon offers landline and wireless services. The new bundles will be introduced in other Verizon markets in the future.

New Bundles Provide Flexibility, Savings New customers who sign up by Jan. 16 for FiOS quad-play or triple-play bundles that include broadband and TV also will receive a $150 Visa prepaid card. New customers who subscribe to quad-play or triple-play bundles that include Verizon Freedom Essentials, Verizon HSI with an up-to-3 Mbps or 7 Mbps (megabits per second) speed, and DIRECTV service will receive three months of free High-Speed Internet service. Both qualifying Verizon FiOS and HSI bundle customers have free access to some 14,000 free Wi-Fi hot spots located in airports, cafes, retail stores and other public places across the country. Existing Verizon Wireless customers can choose to add Verizon broadband or TV services, or both, to complete a bundle; existing Verizon broadband and TV customers can add Verizon Wireless voice service to their bundles.
