Verdantix Names Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) Firms "Smart Innovators" as the New Generation of Products Makes End-to-End Real Estate Management a Reality

Independent analyst firm Verdantix believes Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) are the leading contenders for adoption when real estate managers need to consolidate their data and insights. Investors and owner occupiers, tenants and service providers need to keep a firm hand on capital planning, lease management, space planning and building operations management. "IWMS solutions are poised to play a significant role in the facility management world as they have the potential to be the premier platform to bring together all real estate, energy and facility information data under a single platform," claims Rodolphe d'Arjuzon, Managing Director at Verdantix.

For the report "Smart Innovators: IWMS," Verdantix conducted interviews with major IWMS vendors and gathered information from suppliers pertaining to the extent of their solutions' capabilities on 33 different dimensions. Based on this research, Verdantix identified the following 20 firms as "Smart Innovators": Accruent, Archibus, AssetWorks, Axxerion, eFacility, FM:Systems, FSI, IBM, Indus Systems, iOffice, Lucernex, MCS Solutions, Oracle, Planon, ProLease, Qube Global, QuickFMS, Rosmiman, Service Works Group (SWG) and Trimble (News - Alert).

Technology innovation trends such as cheaper sensors, the use of mobile devices, self-service access points and connected devices are opening up new opportunities to maximise comfort and usability while targeting cost reductions. Derrek Clarke, Industry Analyst at Verdantix says: "Leading vendors are releasing new products that are ready for the IoT paradigm which is opening up an exciting new chapter in the evolution of the digital workplace."

However, Verdantix's research finds that the breadth of IWMS solutions on the market also means there is significant variation in what they cover and where vendors are choosing to innovate. "While there is a clear value proposition, buyers need careful due diligence when selecting IWMS solutions as software vendors tend to have a variety of different capabilities," concluded Derrek Clarke.
