Vejonis to meet Dutch defense minister to discuss cooperation(LETA Latvian News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) RIGA, Sept 30 (LETA) - Defense Minister Raimonds Vejonis (Greens and Farmers' Union) will meet with Dutch Defense Minister Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert today, the Defense Ministry informed LETA. oth ministers will discuss the implementation of decisions made during the NATO Summit in Wales, as well as regional security, cyber-security, Latvia's presidency of the Council of the European Union, and bilateral cooperation between Latvia and Netherlands in defense. Vejonis, accompanied by Hennis-Plasschaert, will also visit the Latvian Naval Forces' Coast Guard to introduce his Dutch counterpart with the new "Skrunda" class patrol ships. Netherlands is one of the countries that have helped the Baltic coutnries to improve their security. This year, Dutch patrol jets have started four-month NATO patrolling mission in the Baltic States and Poland's airspace, and are currently stationed in the Malbork military base in Poland. |
